Dennis Reiland and Jim Plotkin clinched the 2022 SCGA Senior Four-Ball championship at Soule Park GC in dramatic fashion, defeating Kirk Stark and Tim Hogarth in a playoff.
Reiland and Plotkin posted a strong first-round 64 to put themselves at the top of the leaderboard, ending the round with birdies on four of their last five holes. Hogarth and Stark trailed by two strokes headed into day two. The duo fired a 65, which included four birdies on the back nine, to force a playoff starting on the par-three 16th hole.
Plotkin, who won the 2021 SCGA Senior Match Play Championship, knocked in a 25-foot par putt to extend the playoff. On the par-four 17th, Reiland stuck his second shot to two feet and sunk his birdie putt to seal the victory. This is the duo's second Senior Four-Ball title, as they combined to win the 2019 championship at Bakersfield CC.
