Michael Weis and Erik Jarvey secured a win at the SCGA Foursomes Championship (Open Division) at Industry Hill GC (The Babe). The pair of Weis and Jarvey took command of the field with a strong first round of 67 (tied for the championship low) and only needed to go one-over on the second day to cruise to a three-stroke victory.
The duo came out firing, picking up a birdie on the third hole and another front nine birdie on the seventh to put them at one-under at the turn. They continued their strong opening round with three more birdies on holes 11, 15 and 17 to finish at four-under at the halfway point.
Drew Jankowski and Jonathan Brandt trailed Weis and Jarvey by three strokes going into the final round after shooting a one-under opening round.
While Weis and Jarvey wouldn’t tear up the course like they did during the opening round, it would hardly matter as no one was able to catch them on the leaderboard. The pair had an up-and-down final round going one-over while tallying three birdies.
Scotland Schmidt and Nik Neal used an impressive three-under final round to slingshot themselves into second place while the teams of Christopher Derr and Brady Esterbrooks and Damon Krause and Tongun Lako Losarah both tied for third at two-over.
