Grant Martens and Scotland Schmidt capture a win at the SCGA's first championship of the 2024 season at Wood Ranch GC. The pair was comfortably in first place both days and finished the final round with a birdie.
The duo opened the competition with a 68 (-4), including three birdies to start the round. Their consistency gave them a great buffer going into the second round.
Chris Casey and Gavin Torres trailed just behind at one-under, but Martens and Schmidt were able to get the job done and finish at two-under.
Martens entered the 2025 season coming off a win at the Public Links Championship at El Dorado Park GC in Aug. 2024 - an event Schmidt won back in 2022.
