Longtime SCGA competitor John Pate of Santa Barbara captured the 2025 SCGA Super Senior Championship on Tuesday at Montecito Club.
Pate, the 100th SCGA Amateur Champion (1999), opened with an even-par 71 to close the first of two days in third place, trailing only Casey Boyns (67) and Iain Macdonald (70).
Pate’s steady play carried over into the final round, where he carded another even-par 71 that included three birdies on the back nine, and the two-time SCGA Senior Player of the Year added another trophy to his case.
