Running concurrently with the Public Links Championship at Brookside GC, the Public Links Net Championship offers two competitive flights and features golfers of all skill levels who belong to a public or affiliate golf club.
Arroyo Flight
In the Arroyo Flight, Tyler Taft emerged victorious to win his first SCGA championship. Chasing the leader by five strokes heading into the final round, Taft locked in for a final round net-70, which included an eagle on hole No. 11, to eventually finish in a tie with the clubhouse leader, Todd Miller, at four-under. Using the USGA’s method of matching scorecards to break the tie, Taft’s back-nine final round score beat Miller’s by five strokes, giving Taft the victory.
Mission Flight
In the Mission Flight, Jason Calizar put together a pair of rounds in the 60’s (68-66) to win his flight by a stroke. He went wire-to-wire and rolled in eight net-birdies in his final round that helped him retain his spot at the top of the leaderboard and eventually lay claim to victory.
