The legend Jeff Burda (2-under) won his first SCGA Super Senior Championship at Ojai Valley Inn to add another trophy to his illustrious California Amateur golf career.
Burda opened the championship with a steady even-par 72 to lead by one stroke heading into the final round. After a lack of low numbers from the field in the first day, a couple of notables tried to chase down Burda, but his 2-under 68 was ultimately too much as he won by three strokes finishing as the only player in red figures.
Patrick Rohan (+1) on the final day fired the lowest round of the championship with a 4-under 66 to finish T2. Mel Collins Jr. and Dave Cheff also finished T2, with Boyd Martin placing fifth at +2.
The three-time California Senior Amateur Champion Burda now has 21 total SCGA/NCGA Amateur championships.
