Mitchell Fedorka claimed his first SCGA title at Skylinks GC winning the 2025 SCGA Public Links Championship with a first round 67 and a second round 64, a new tournament low round for Fedorka.
Fedorka’s first round proved to be a strong foundation for his title charge. He accumulated six birdies and carded just one bogey throughout his 18 holes on Thursday to put him at -5 after day one. A bogey-free back nine on Thursday would set the tone for what was to come from Fedorka for the remainder of the tournament.
Fedorka, who is the head coach of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team, started the final round by making birdies on four of his first six holes to get to 9-under par with 12 holes left to play.
Fedorka would get to -10, but after a bogey on 13 and a birdie from his opponent, Ramiz Jamal, on 14, he would find himself only up two shots with four holes to go. The turning point would come on the 15th hole where Fedorka managed to put the nail in the coffin with an incredible eagle to not only better his opponent’s birdie but also restore his three-shot lead.
There would be no looking back after the eagle for Fedorka as he would go on to birdie 17 and 18, capping off the tournament with an incredible 20-foot undulating putt that crawled its way right into the heart of the cup to help Fedorka secure his first ever SCGA trophy at Skylinks GC.
