All the man does is win, and Jeff Burda displayed no signs of slowing down in his title defense at the 2021 SCGA Super Senior Championship held at Ojai Valley Inn.
Playing in the first group in Tuesday’s opening round, Burda had the field buzzing after he fired a 6-under, 64 to hold a four-shot lead over Bob Clark.
During Wednesday’s final round, Burda played like he’s been there before. Stretching his lead to as many as 10 strokes, and like last year he once again was the only player to post red figures during both rounds. His final round 1-under, 69 to finish at 7-under overall was good for a six-shot victory over runner-up Craig Calkins (-1).
Completing the top-5, Curtis Worley (+3) came in third place, Bob Clark (+5) placed fourth, and Jim Williams, Ken Knott and David Ujihara tied for fifth.
Burda’s win brings him up to 25 total SCGA/NCGA/CGA championship victories in his amateur golfing career.
