Mario Dino and Bailey Bish Shine at Goose Creek GC

Despite the Bain Fire, which threatened the course and the players the day before while the U.S. Adaptive Open Championship Qualifier was taking place, Mario Dino and Bailey Bish battled through the chaos to claim victory in their respective fields at the 2026 SCGA Adaptive Championship presented by Callaway Golf. It is never good to have Mother Nature against you, but the Adaptive Championship field made it look easy, keeping the energy and vibes high despite the vicinity of the flames. Thanks to the incredible work from the Riverside Fire Department and Cal Fire, the 2026 edition of the championship was able to kick off on May 20 with a shotgun start delayed to 12:30 where Bish and Dino would go on to claim victory at Goose Creek GC.

Men’s Overall Net

After securing his spot in the U.S. Adaptive Open Championship as low medalist is the qualifier the day previous, Mario Dino would use the qualification as a catalyst to propel him to victory at the SCGA Adaptive Championship. He would go even par on his first nine of the championship, but the back nine would provide a little more intrigue with a couple of bogeys putting him at net +2 with three holes to go. Dino would battle through the adversity, a common theme for all our competitors this tournament, and go birdie, eagle and birdie again to finish his round at net -2.

The second round would create some adversity for Dino, with a birdie and three bogeys on the front leaving him with some work to do going into the final nine of the championship. Luckily for Dino, the back nine had been a strength for him and the final round proved no different. A Birdie on no. 15 followed by a net birdie on no. 17 put him back into a tie for the lead, which is how it would remain after the final putts were tapped in. A card-off would be the decider, with Dino coming out on top and walking away the Men’s Overall Net Champion.

Women’s Overall Net

Bailey Bish secured the Women’s Overall Net SCGA Adaptive Championship for the second year running after a late push helped her beat out the competition. The first round started incredibly well for Bish, with a net birdie, net eagle and a gross birdie all before nine holes played, leaving her at net -4 going into the turn. A tough stretch would leave Bish at net +1 going into the final two holes of the day but she would close out the round strong with a net birdie followed by a net eagle to wrap up her round at net -2.

It would take Bish some time before finding her groove in the final round, as a double bogey on no. 1 followed by a bogey on no. 2 would lead to some shakeup on the leaderboard. Tied with her playing partner, Ingrid Myers Rose, for most of the round, it would come down to the final two holes to decide who would be the 2026 SCGA Adaptive Championship Women’s Overall Net Champion. Bish would manage to replicate her success on holes 17 and 18 from the day previous, once again carding a net birdie on no. 17, followed by a net eagle on no. 18 to secure the championship for the second year in a row.
