Love was in the air at the SCGA Mixed Team Championships when SCGA member James Wilson dropped to one knee on the 18th green and proposed to Marabah Akers. Akers said yes, showing that the memories made at SCGA tournaments can go far beyond the scorecard.

Arroyo Flight

The Arroyo Flight featured the youngest group of competitors and Fay Jia remained red hot, winning her second team event in as many weeks. Jia and her teammate Steven Yang racked up 17 birdies over the course of 36 holes en route to finishing at -14 and six strokes ahead of the rest of their flight.

Mission Flight

In the Mission Flight, Mary Budke and Doug Logan ran away with the title as the only team to finish the tournament under par. The back nine proved to be their forte, as Budke and Logan carded a combined 8-under across the final halves of both rounds, helping them secure the championship.

Pacific Flight

In the Pacific Flight, Brenda and Tim McQuiggan, members of PGA West Private, won with a pair of 67s for a net -10. The couple had two birdies, six net birdies and three net eagles over the course of the tournament. Reigning net champions Ray Sasser and Ashley Stone finished second with a net -8 on the final day.

San Andreas Flight

It was a closely contested matchup in the San Andreas Flight that remained tight through the final three holes, but Debby and Richard Waitschies managed to pull away from the competition to claim the flight at net -12. The husband-and-wife duo held off a surging Jesse and KK Beecher, with Debby draining a clutch putt from over 20 feet that proved to be the crowning moment of an unforgettable day on the course.
