Former collegian golfer Cody Hall teamed up with high schooler Edwin Kuang of Murrieta to capture the 2017 playing of the SCGA Four-Ball Championship, played over two days at Bear Creek GC. For each champion, the SCGA title was their first.

Ending regulation play in a tie atop the leaderboard with eventual runner-ups Timothy Johnson and Christian Rajcic, Hall and Kuang, both members of Bear Creek GC, would birdie the first playoff hole to secure the win. A birdie putt from Kuang on the 18th hole of regulation play forced the playoff, before Kuang would again knock in the birdie putt for the win. With the victory, Kuang becomes the youngest-ever winner of the event.

Finishing in third place and one shot behind the first two teams was the duo of Peter Roberts/Joe Ryon, which finished with a two-round total of 8-under par.

Notables in the field included former SCGA Amateur Champion Nathan Celusta, who teamed with former SCGA Mid-Amateur Champion Ramie Sprinkling to finish T4. Current SCGA Mid-Amateur Champion and 2017 SCGA Player of the Year Dan Sullivan paired up with Mark Miller of West Covina to finish T14 after an impressive final-round score of 68.
