Spring Valley Lake CC, a team made up of the duo of Wade Perry and Greg Hall, captured the 33rd playing of the SCGA Four-Ball Net Championship, a two-day event which was this year held at Oak Valley GC in Beaumont. The winning team shot rounds of 60 and 62 to take the title with a two-day total of 22-under par 122.

Jeffrey Benmoin and Jim Yeh of Roger Dunn Rancho Cucamonga placed second in the championship, finishing with a two-day total of 20-under par 124. Jeffrey Earnest and Jeff Chaffin of Santa Barbara GC came in third with Marco Sanchez Sr. and Armando Torres of Balboa Park GC and California CC's team of James Sullivan and David Harabedian tying for fourth and finishing just five strokes behind the winners.

To reach the championship teams had to first qualify at one of Southern California’s four sectional qualifying sites. In fact, several of the teams had to go through qualifying at their home club just to reach the SCGA sectional sites. The four-ball net format uses the team’s best net score on each hole to come up with an 18-hole total. Competitors had to battle tough conditions, as the Oak Valley course is set to host PGA TOUR Q-school in a few short weeks.
