Four-Ball Net Championship

TIJERAS CREEK GC DUO EARN 2014 FOUR-BALL NET TITLE

September 30, 2014

Results

With a two-day total of 20-under-par 124, John Koh and Bob Lee of Tijeras Creek GC earned the 35th annual SCGA Four-Ball Net title. Despite a bogey on No. 9, the champions had an impressive six birdies, three eagles and a net 1 on the par-3 15th, shooting a combined 13-under-par round on day two.

“We knew we had to go low,” said Koh. “We were hoping for a 62, which we thought might get us in the running. All of a sudden, the putts started rolling in.”

Koh and Lee were tied with the Rancho Maria GC duo Richard Medina and David Zavala, who shot a 15-under-par 57 in round two. The tie was broken by the USGA method of matching score cards on holes 10-18 of round two. The Anaheim Hills GC team of David Alcock and Lal Parsonage took third place with an 18-under-par total.

Played on the Canyon Crest and Ridgeline courses at Moorpark CC, the 36-hole championship included 52 teams. The four-ball net format uses the team’s best net score on each hole to come up with an 18-hole total.
