Despite the cool coastal weather at Olivas Links in Ventura, Team River Ridge GC needed both days to battle the hot competition and take the 2019 Four-Ball Net Championship title. On day one, eventual champions Benjamin Golemon and Garry Eberhardt shot 64, placing them in the middle of the pack. With Marv Moneymaker and Chuck Winkles in first after a 12-under 60, they had some catching up to do.
In the final round, Moneymaker and Winkles had a hot start with an eagle on No. 2, but it was a bit of a roller coaster from there, where Team Rancho Maria found two bogeys throughout the day. Team River Ridge GC, however, went bogey free on Tuesday and sprinkled two eagles into their sea of birdies. Next thing they knew, they had climbed the leaderboard and found their way to the top.
Behind our champions, Golemon/Eberhardt, 19-under, were Moneymaker/Winkles, 18-under, and in third were Alfredo Perez/Alberto DelCampo of Silver Lakes CC, 16-under.
The 2020 Four-Ball Net Championship will be held at The Golf Club of California in Fallbrook.
