The duo of Kirk Dancses and Brian Dancses (Recreation Park GC) narrowly claimed the 42nd SCGA Four-Ball Net Championship by one stroke at La Purisima GC.
This victory comes seven years after the brothers collaborated to win the 2015 championship at Temecula Creek Inn. This is their third Four-Ball Net title, as they also took home the 2000 championship at Palm Valley CC.
As 52 teams ham and egged through 36 holes, the side of Don Younger and Frank Manzano obtained the overnight clubhouse lead, posting eight-under 64. The Dancses brothers sat just two strokes behind heading into Tuesday's final round, where they combined to go even lower (63) to eventually claim victory. Kirk posted two net-eagles (No. 6 & No. 12) while Brian contributed three birdies to shift the momentum despite a strong showing from Younger and Manzano (68), who eventually finished in sixth place.
After an opening-round 69, Jesse Beecher and Chris Kuminkoski nearly came back and won the championship with a second-round 61. Though the side fell one stroke short and finished tied for second place with Greg DelGado and Brice Beatty, followed by Shane East and Michael Cole (-13) in fourth place and Mike Westmacott and James Tricase (-12) to round out the top-five.
