They needed extra golf, but the duo of Mark Harding and Jim Ream emerged victorious for its first SCGA Senior Four-Ball crown at Sandpiper GC.

Posting the low-score of the second round was the duo of Don DuBois and John Pate, coming from behind on the second day to finish in a tie after regulation. The two teams went onto playoff holes and Harding/Ream was able to close the deal on the 2nd extra hole.

The Harding/Ream team distanced themselves from every squad except one, jumping out to a tie for the lead with a championship-low round of 6-under 66 on the first day.

Joining them with the overnight lead was the team of Mel Collins and David Ujihara, who fired a blistering first-round 66 and followed that up with a second round 1-under 71, finishing in third place.

The SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship is open to two-person teams. Each player’s index must not exceed 7.4 and all players must be the age of 55 and above.
