Carding the low round of the day for both Rounds 1 and 2, the duo of Mark Gardner and Michael Rowley captured the 2017 SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship Tuesday at Glendora CC. After an opening round of 64, a second round 66 led the eventual champions to a 4-shot victory at 14-under par 130. 2015 Champions Jeff Burda and Jim Knoll finished four shots back, matching Gardner and Rowley with a Round 2 66 to follow up their opening round 68 to catapult into second place. For Gardner, the win was his third SCGA title, having previously won the 1993 SCGA Four-Ball title with Ted Lyford as well as the 1998 SCGA Tournament of Club Champions at Yorba Linda CC. For Rowley, the win was his first SCGA title.

The team of Gardner/Rowley held a 3-stroke lead at the conclusion of Round 1, with Doug Williams/Jim Williams and Craig Calkins/Rick Doebler tied for second. Round 2 would be less friendly to the duos, however, as the Williams team would eventually finish T7 while Calkins/Doebler would card a closing-round 74 to finish T11.

Rounding out the Top 5 was a trio of teams tied for third place, with Steve Donnelly/James Camaione, Jeffrey Thomas/Lou Carrasco and Bob Valerio/Iain Macdonald all turning in tournament scores of 7-under par 137.
