Corby Segal of Woodland Hills CC emerged victorious in the 40th SCGA Tournament of Club Champions at The Santaluz Club in San Diego. Segal was one of four players to shoot under-par with a 5-under 67.
Segal was a model of steadiness, not carding a single bogey in his round while rolling true five birdies. After four birdies in his first 10 holes, Segal went on cruise control, paring seven straight before ending with bang and a birdie on 18.
Segal finished two strokes ahead of Joe Doody (Santa Ana CC), who shot a 3-under 69, and four strokes ahead of Dan Sullivan (Brookside GC) and Erick Liscio (Temecula Creek GC), who both carded 1-under 71.
