Already a big name in the world of golf, Asterisk Talley just added another notable achievement to her growing list of accolades that includes finishing runner-up at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship and sharing low-amateur honors at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster CC. The 16-year-old phenom not only won the 2025 CIF-SCGA SoCal Girls High School Championship, but she also broke the Los Serranos GC (North) course record with a bogey-free 9-under 65.

Talley started the day hot, with birdies on the first and third hole of her round putting her at 2-under through three holes of play. She stayed consistent through the rest of the front nine avoiding any blemishes on the scorecard and going into the turn at 3-under. The back nine is where the Stanford-commit really found her groove, going 5-under through her first four holes of the back. This was in large part due to back-to-back eagles on holes 12 and 13, highlighted by a chip-in from the fairway. At 7-under and with a one-stroke lead over second place, Talley kept her foot on the gas with birdies on holes 16 and 18 to close-out the win and secure a course record with a final score 9-under 65.

The Chowchilla-native secured her spot at Poppy Hills GC for the CIF State Girls High School Championship along with Zoey Kim (-7), Rina Kawasaki (-6), Eliana Saga (-5), Juliet Oh (-5), Emily Zhang (-5), Kandice Chuang (-4), Audrey Zhao (-4) and Maddie Sammon (-3).

The team championship winner was Santa Margarita HS, claiming the honor for the fourth year running with a cumulative score of 9-under. The two teams joining them up north are Rancho Bernardo HS (-6) and Torrey Pines HS (-2).
